To develop, maintain and execute procurement plans to ensure adequate inventory of materials and services supporting production and distribution requirements. Serve as single point of contact for procurement related actions across internal and external business entities.  Actively provide support for material sourcing and supplier management activities. 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the continual development of thought leadership of the Life Science Group
  • Help execute day to day purchasing tasks in both, legacy and the new ERP systems.
  • Work with the operations team on scheduling material availability based on the needs communicated using data analysis and the system to drive decision making
  • Establish timelines for material arrivals and facilitate scheduling plans through the rest of the operations team
  • Coordinate the tracking of key metrics and provide to manager on a needed basis
  • Conduct Price and cost analysis to justify pricing as fair and reasonable and review with manager prior to execution
  • Review key data such as vendor part numbers, item specifications/requirements and make decisions on new items based on the requirements
  • Work with procurement team and manager to evaluate new vendors to help improve performance and to keep cost under control
  • Work closely with our Quality Team to hold our vendors accountable to quality, pricing and delivery performance
  • Assist in the pricing of new kit projects or samples along with cross functional teams
  • Produce timely and accurate estimates for the sales group.
  • Confer with sales rep and/or customer to determine job specifications including the components required.

Skills & Qualifications


Education           High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience         1-2 years of purchasing experience and inventory planning/sourcing is preferred. College degree is a plus along with previous experience with business systems and tools
Desired Skills     Fluent in English, computer skills including the use of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, etc.), ability to use simple formulas in Excel to drive cost analysis activities
