The Role:
Our Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end distribution operations within our high-volume biomedical kitting and fulfillment environment. This role provides leadership across production, staging, warehouse coordination, and outbound distribution to ensure operational efficiency, shipping accuracy, quality compliance, and customer service expectations are consistently achieved.
This individual will lead frontline operational leadership teams, including the department supervisors, while driving accountability, workforce performance, throughput, and continuous improvement initiatives across the operation. The role requires a hands-on operational leader who can successfully manage fast-paced workflows, shifting priorities, and large frontline teams in a KPI-driven environment.

Operational Leadership
Operational Leadership
- Lead day-to-day fulfillment, staging, and distribution operations across assigned departments and shifts.
- Ensure schedules, order fulfillment timelines, and shipping commitments are achieved while maintaining operational accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor operational KPIs including productivity, throughput, labor utilization, shipping accuracy, turnaround time, and service level performance.
- Coordinate workflow execution across Inventory, Warehouse, Staging, and Distribution teams to support seamless operational flow.
- Proactively identify operational risks, staffing gaps, bottlenecks, or process inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
- Support operational execution during peak production periods and shifting customer demands.
- Directly manage Distribution Supervisors, Team Leads, and frontline operational leadership teams.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, performance management, and leadership development to supervisors and frontline leaders.
- Drive accountability, employee engagement, teamwork, and operational discipline across departments.
- Support workforce planning, staffing, onboarding, training, scheduling, and cross-training initiatives.
- Foster a culture centered around safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, safety standards, operational procedures, and quality requirements.
- Partner closely with Quality leadership to address deviations, corrective actions, process improvements, and compliance initiatives.
- Support operational compliance within regulated environments, including ISO and FDA-related processes where applicable.
- Maintain accurate operational reporting, production documentation, and distribution records.
- Partner with Inventory, Planning, Quality, and Operations leadership to ensure accurate material flow and operational alignment.
- Help resolve inventory discrepancies, staging issues, shipment delays, and operational bottlenecks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve operational responsiveness, fulfillment accuracy, and production efficiency.
- Ensure proper execution of staging, inventory movement, and outbound shipping processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements focused on efficiency, throughput, labor optimization, quality, and operational accuracy.
- Utilize operational data, reporting, and KPI trends to drive performance improvements and reduce errors or rework.
- Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
- Support standardization of operational best practices across production and distribution functions.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent operational leadership experience considered.
- 5+ years of leadership experience within manufacturing, fulfillment, distribution, warehouse, logistics, or high-volume operational environments.
- Experience leading supervisors and large frontline hourly teams.
- Strong understanding of production operations, fulfillment workflows, shipping processes, and operational KPI management.
- Experience within regulated operational environments preferred (medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, FDA, ISO, etc.).
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- ERP/WMS system experience preferred.
What We Need:
- Biomedical kitting, fulfillment, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution operations experience preferred.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or lean initiatives.
- Multi-shift operational leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Strong cross-functional operational leadership experience within high-volume environments.
